The team behind Kastner Kommunity received award for their social impact

An Agency People of the Year recognition for Kommunity team

We’re proud to announce that our colleagues – the team behind Kastner Kommunity in Budapest: Judit Járadi, Korinna Tanczos and Virág Papp – have received a prestigious recognition at the Agency People of the Year Awards. They won the Social Impact Team of the Year category, celebrating communication agency teams with the most significant social impact.

The award was localized to Hungary by the association of communication agencies called MAKSZ, based on the Agency People of the Year methodology developed by the renowned Campaign magazine.

The team received this award for their work in managing Kastner Kommunity, the agency’s open hybrid creative space. Beyond the personal professional recognition, this award reflects that by opening the Kommunity, Kastner Budapest led by Andrea Toth has built something lasting and meaningful for both the industry and its community.

Standing up for causes, giving space to emerging creators and contemporary artists, and keeping important topics on the agenda through exhibitions and programs is at the core of what they do. Now in its fifth year, Kastner Kommunity proves day by day that there is a real need for the ecosystem they’ve created – one that connects creativity, culture, and community in a purpose-driven way.

Created in 2021 as part of the agency’s “open agency” philosophy initiated by Creative Managing Director Andrea Tóth, the Kastner Kommunity was built to democratise access to creativity, support underserved voices, and embed the agency meaningfully into Budapest’s cultural life.

Since its opening, the venue has hosted over 300 public events, exhibited well-established, up-and-coming as well as non-professional 120+ artists and applied creators, engaged thousands of visitors and became a hub for cultural dialogue, social engagement, and emerging talent development. Thanks to its fully independent non-profit operation the Kastner Kommunity Art Korner’s credo prioritises emerging artists, female creators, and creative groups or topics that would rarely be presented in traditional commercial galleries in Hungary.

Their strategic approach – rooted in inclusivity, partnership-building, sustainable programming and continuous curation – has transformed the Kastner Kommunity into a long-lasting creative industrial ecosystem. The team’s pro bono commitment has empowered local communities as well as independent artists and grassroots initiatives with professional-level creative support and outreach.

Internally, opening the Kommunity reshaped Kastner’s culture by embedding purpose-driven creativity into the agency’s core values. Externally, the creative hub strengthened Kastner’s reputation as a socially responsible, culturally embedded and forward-thinking creative agency.

The most important non-profit partners they have been working with throughout the past 5 years:

  • Hintalovon Child Rights Foundation

  • UNICEF Hungary

  • Shelter Foundation

  • NANE – Women Together Against Violence Association

  • MAACRAFT Miskolc Autism Foundation

  • Down Foundation

  • Austistic Art

  • Aurora Modularis

  • KÜLKÖRÚT initiative

  • Józsefváros Municipality

Congratulations to the team on this well-deserved recognition – and thank you for shaping a more open, inclusive, and impactful creative community!
